So my story with Queen and Adriane has to have one of the best starts. I’ve only known them for less than a year, but I feel like I’ve known them for so much longer! I had mini sessions back in May of this year. Queen, I guess had been following me for a while on Instagram, and once I announced my mini sessions were taking place here in Petaluma, she booked a 15-minute slot. Queen and Adriane showed up and one of the first things she said to me was that she was a huge fan of mine and my work. Being in an industry that has hundreds of other photographers around you, creating such beautiful work really makes “imposter syndrome” a thing. So hearing those words from Queen made my day. Scratch that, my year! I still replay those words in my head all the time.
Our mini session went absolutely great. They brought their golden retriever, Otis, who instantly melted my heart because I have a golden retriever of my own, Rylee. After the session, I asked where they drove here from and they said “Modesto.” GUYS, if you don’t know, Modesto is over 2 hours away from Petaluma plus traffic. THEY DROVE 2 HOURS FOR A 15-MINUTE SHOOT WITH ME. And another 2 hours back home!! I absolutely love you both for that.
Not long after, they booked me for their wedding. I was so pumped I got to work with them again! We scheduled their engagement session although the location was not what we originally had in mind, we had so much fun!
Fast forward to November 6th, Queen and Adriane’s wedding was a dream! It took place at the Del Rio Country Club in Modesto, CA. The venue was absolutely stunning and Queen’s dress was nothing short of perfect. The moment she put it on, my jaw dropped. I’m not sure how many times I said “oh my god, your dress is so beautiful!” One of my favorite parts of the day was speeches. That’s always one of my favorite parts because I love hearing all the stories. And Queen’s dad made sure to share A TON of them. 9 pages of them to be exact! All the stories made me feel like I knew these two even more.
Queen and Adriane, THANK YOU. Thank you for spending 4 hours of your Saturday driving to spend 15 minutes with me. Thank you for being amazing supporters and friends. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this huge day with you guys. I’m so excited you’re moving closer to me and for our future shoots! I hope you love these sneak peeks as much as I do!
